Lego and Duplo are wonderful tools for learning within our classrooms. Not only can they be used for countless ways of problem solving and creativity, but they can be used to learn and help reinforce specific concepts. This week, our Kindergarten students looked at different flags of the world to isolate how fractions can be shown in different ways - horizontally, vertically, diagonally and even half-swirls. They then used Duplo to demonstrate their understandings of fractions. They were given cards with fractions on them and a colour code, and proceeded to make flags representing the fractions given.
