We have been working on the concept of time throughout the year in Kindergarten. The order of events, before/after, morning/night, how long it takes to do things (long time/short time), times that we do things, and what time looks like on an analog clock. This week, we revisited analog clocks and introduced what digital time looks like. We started with o'clock then moved on to half past, which is a tricky concept! The students loved the flip clocks and really started to make connections between analog and digital time. They also made used playdough to make and change the hands of a clock to specific times, and played games outside to reinforce their understandings. You may like to look at different clocks around your house together and what time looks like on them.
